Question

Posted

Hi I have a lights scene which is triggered by a combination of 2 variables.

The first variable is "isnight" = Y or N (this is set by a scene that determines what time of day is it)

The second variable is "ismotion" = Y or N (it is set by a scene that is triggered by motion from my skybell)

I have a third automatic scene that turns on my outdoor lights when isnight = Y and ismotion = Y.  However there is a delay in this scene running (sometimes 2 to 3 minutes, sometimes it runs pretty instantaneously).  My question is, how frequently do Fibaro automatic scenes check variables?  Can you get fibaro to continuously check the value of variables so there is no delay in turning on the lights when isnight = y and ismotion = y?

Hi thanks for this that is helpful to know about the trigger. The ismotion variable is updated from skybell using IFTTT. So perhaps the delay is in between skybell and ifttt or ifttt and fibaro. It’s strange though as other services linked by ifttt work instantly eg google assistant and fibaro.

HC2 doesn't check variables... when variable changes it generates trigger. I don't think the variables update is the issue.

Scene that sets "isnight" variable shouldn't be an issue either..

    Two options to investigate:

    1. Scene triggered by skybell. How it's  triggered and for how long?

    2. When or how you turn light OFF? It might be that lights turned OFF, but trigger from  is still "Y". By updating variable "ismotion" to same value doesn't trigger the scene.
