Third party radiator thermostats stop listening to heating panel after manual change.

lennminkhorst

Question

I got an Aeotec Radiator Thermostat (same as the Eurotronic Spirit I believe) and it works flawlessly with the heating panel scheduler and manual override.

The moment that I change the setpoint locally on the device or trough the HC2 interface (not the Heating Panel) it stops listening to the heating panel.

Neither the schedule or the manual override work after this.

Only by doing a soft reconfigure does the thermostat start working properly again.

I've seen this issue reported by others on forums (including this one) back in 2016. How come this is still not solved?

Does anyone have a workaround for this?

  • No it should work straight out of the box. Is literally a Fibaro Heat Controller but from a different brand.

And it works until you manually adjust the temp on the radiator stat itself. From then on it refuses to listen to the schedules.

@lennminkhorst - if you change setpoint from interface or from the device it start "override" from climate panel for few hours (i think 2h) - then it will return to schedule.
You can force it to get back immediately (action setTime with value = 0) or change this time for as long as you want - just sent setTime action with timestamp in epoch).

Did you find any solution for this problem? Today I've installed one of this thermostat under HC2 and I can see everything is working except the heating panel controll the setpoint for the thermostat. So I can't use this thermostat with Schedule? It is very strange....
