In-wall alternative

stolevegen

Question

Hi.

I have some double power outlets that I want to control. Is the smart wall plug the only good option, or is there any alternatives which can be mounted inside the wall?

I looked at the fibaro double switch, but can't figure out how to pair it (instructions is to cycle the switch, but this is  a power outlet without switch)

By the looks of it, my double outlet is daisy-chained with some other outlets?

Hi @stolevegen .

Also i the manual.

B – service button (used to add/remove the device and navigate the menu)

So by pressing the B-Button three times during inclusion mode the device gets included.

  • Thanks, don't know how I missed that. Guess I have to figure out how the outlets are chained together, so I don't break the connection to other outlets than the ones I want.

If you keep the power lines together, and a extra wire, to power "L1"  from the Fibaro switch, and then the "Q1" output to the power outlet then it should be no problem.

The room in the outlet box is the most challenging.

I use wago and some flexible wire to fit it in the box.

You should also connect the N to the single/double switch. (do the same as the powerline)

This keep al outlets conncted as always, and you can switch of you''re prefered outlet with the "Q'of the switch.

Sorry about my bad drawing. ?

  • Thanks. I've connected the dimmer at the lamp (after switches).
If the automations work well enough I'll keep it that way, if not then I'll have to wire in the switches.
