Cancel a false alarm on smoke detector via app: HUSH function

meijdaar

Question

Hi all,

Recently during my holiday my old smoke alarms went off.

The neighbors had to go in and take the all of the ceiling and take the batteries our to silence them.

I am now looking for a new system and am really inspired by Fibaro and the whole set up.

my main question is:  Is it possible to silence the alarms of a smoke detector via an app?   I know the nest protect has such function as well as the Netatmo smoke alarms yet i would like to acquire  the Fibaro system as i want to expand to other functions a s well.

Please advice so i can finalize the purchase.

Hi,

I'm also looking for a smoke detector, which I can cancel remotely. When we're cooking, our smoke detectors often give false alarms, which I'd like to cancel using a physical button on my wall (some family members cannot reach the ceiling).

I've read

for the Fibaro Smoke detectors (FGSD-002), and I could only find reporting functionality - nothing that indicates the ability to HUSH / CANCEL / SILENCE an alarm.

Looking forward to know if it's possible (or it is made possible).

Mike.

hello guys,

please read the topics in this forum section first before buying smoke sensors from fibaro.

You will have to send in your neighbours more often than right now.

@kroeatschge, I dont agreed with your statement!

I am having 6 smoke detectors from Fibaro.

Since two years 2 times false alarm on my app >>>no signals in th ehouse.

I have had several brands before I bought Fibaro.

@meijdaar,

if smoke censor placed in kitchen you are against all advices, if kitchen is not that bigg. Find a place in your kitchen where its possible to mount or others outside your kitchen.

Remark smoke sensor respond also on coffee maker or water boiler.

Succes,

@Sjakie ok, then it was just bad luck with all 4 of mine.

Though the issues maybe got fixed in a later hardware revision.

Mine kept going off between 2 and 4 am. Which only was solved by an empty battery that never lasted longer than 6 month.

Side note: the 10 year lasting replacement standard of the shelf smoke detector had 0 false alarms in the very same spot.

Good luck
