Are my devices compatible with HC2(HC3)

Question

Posted

Hello, everybody,

after the HC3 was announced, I seriously consider changing my Z-Wave gateway.

ave gateway.

Currently I use the Homey. Before I used homee and before that a long time the Z-Way-Server

I have about 90 Z-Wave devices in total, 40 of them from Fibaro. The 40 should not cause any problems. ?

The rest 50 are spread over 13 vendors. From Abus to Zipato.

During my research I could get the compatibility of many devices confirmed, but not of all. Therefore, the question in the round, are these devices compatible with current HC2 (HC3)?

* Abus smoke detector (rebranded Heiman smoke Sensor)

* Aeotec Garage Door Opener

* Aeotec LED Strip

* Popp window/door contact

Furthermore, I could not find out if the Spirit thermostat can be linked to an external temperature sensor.

Thanks a lot in advance!

    What about the Spirit?

    The Thermostats are very popular. I'm pretty sure there are also a lot users that are using these!

    Nobody who is using a Garage Door Opener from Aeotec?  /Aeotec LED Strip?

    Thanks a lot.

    Have these devices and they're working fine.

    Based on my experience all Aeotec devices work just fine, so I believe LED strip will work also.

    you need to:

    - set spirit Parameter 8 to 128

    - use compatible temp sensor (Need to be able to send Air Temperature via assiotiation), like e.g. Secure SRT321
    - set assotiation on that temp sensor to be sent to Spirit, for SRT321 it is Group 6 in which you have to select Spirit and save the configuration.
    - set the SRT321 temp sensor as main room sensor

    That's all, you might as well create Scene to set temperature of Spirit as soon you changed something on SRT321 (if you wich to use it as "control Panel" on the wall)

    @tinman thanks a lot!!?

    That means I can only link the temperature using Associations? So I can only use Z-Wave Devices as a temperature sensor?

    What about the wall Thermostat from Devolo. Does it works with these too?

    That's a shame!
    Because I have the combination Devolo wall thermostat and Spirit radiator thermostat in every room.

    With other Z-Wave Gateways it’s works.

    Then the HC is probably not the right thing for me!

    Thanks a lot!

    @tinman I am currently using two different Z-Wave Gateways. With these it is possible to send any temperature (whether Z-Wave sensor or ZigBee or whatever) to the Spirit. Isn't that also possible with Fibaro HC? Using lua Skript maybe?

    I have also same problem! I have the Home Center 3 and just tried to connect my Aeotec Led stripe, but Home Center do not find it in the pairing mode!

    Do anyone have a solution here?
