External antenna?

Hi,

I am not sure if I'm right here. I just have a short simple question: does the new Home Center 3 also

have a connector to an external antenna - like the HC2 has? I am just asking because I place my home

controller inside a server enclosure made of iron which reduces the transmission performance of z-wave.

For the HC2 I use therefore an external antenna which works perfectly.

No, it doesn't have connector to an external antenna  (antena is on PCB)

- the antenna being used in HC3 is much better as the monopol antenna on HC2
 (which, when mounted within iron rack, degradated transmision due to ground plane change)

 

- the HC3 does use RF LNA, the measured power is on the antenna, not on the modul, and it is much higher

- zw500 behaves anyway better as zw300

- iron rack does not means "no transmision possible", of course some degradation will be there,
  but at the end of the day might be still better communication as with HC2+external antenna.
