Device grouping 4 to 5 sec reaction time

Question

Posted

I have 2 roller shutters grouped. When I push a button at the remote device it takes up to 5 sec until the other devices reakts.

Why does this take so long?

Is there anything I can do to enhance it?

@HansL To enhance reaction speed associate devices to each other before grouping. This way they will send commands directly to each other without the controller and reaction will be almost instantaneous.

I thought grouping was just an nice and easy GUI for setting associations in the background ? Oh boy...

Nope. Grouping just makes one device out of several in GUI. In background they work as usual if you don’t associate them :)

I thought as well that grouping does this job for me.

when I have to asssociate the devices, why have I to group them again?

    What is grouping good for?

If you just associate them but doesn’t group you will have 2 devices in the UI and will have to control them separately via UI. If you group you will have just one device in the UI.

OK, it works now instantly ;-) thank's so much.

But it's really confusing, that the devices are working as one when you group them. Fibaro should at least ask, if they should also been associtiated

I agree. There are a lot of little improvements that could have been done to the software. But given that there also well known bugs traveling from one software version to another without being fixed, Fibaro will not concentrate on adding new features. I think all their attention will switch to HC3 now.
