POPP Z-weather association for Roller Shutter

PatrickBrigger

Question

Dear Fellow Fibaro fans,

I have a HC2, Popp z-weather and roller shutter 3. I have made Association Group 2 from the Windspeed sensor to the roller shutter,  so that they close when there is too much wind.

All is fine, except: Closing means that the blinds go down, and not up. My blinds are sun-awnings on the balcony. So when there is wind, they should roll-up. It seems that the Popp z-weather Association always initiatives a close (eg. going down) movement. Does anyone else also experience this and maybe a tip for a suitable solution? Of course I could swith Rule 25 (Q1 and Q2 motor), but then the down arrow means going up and up arrow means going down, which is not very elegant.

Thank you so much and happy Sunday,

Patrick

  • Hi Glompf,

Yes, I have a solution. Unfortunately, Popp z-weather ALWAYS does the Close option, and this cannot be reversed.

So - I Associated the HC2 with Association 2. There, I have a scene defined that when wind > 6m/s, perform the open actions on the blinds.

This solution does exactly what it should do. The only drawback is that HC2 always needs to be running, the Popp z-Weather does not directly communicate with the Blind shutters. But it's acceptable, the HC2 is very reliable.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Patrick,

I am facing the same challenge. I am using openhab in combindation with Popp z-weather station and fibaro roller shutters. The z-weather is always only sending a command to close blinds to the 2nd association group.

Do you still get an instant update for your scene so it triggers right away when the wind alarm has been triggered or are you using the regular updates which are not always frequent?

    Thank you,

    Esref
