MJPG not working on Home Center 2

Question

Posted

Hi,

I use Fibaro Home Center 2, i recently installed IP Camera on my LAN. It's POE camera (IP 192.168.0.221), camera is working from it own web interface.

I could like to add it on Fibaro with MJPG, i have the link (

Please login or register to see this link.

) and it's working when i paste it for example on IE or Chrome.

I configured the camera as it :

Camera model : Other model

User : admin

Password : my password

Protocol : http

IP : 192.168.0.221

MJPG stream : /cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?subtype=1

Display camera image at Your house : MJPG

Like it, it's should work.. But in up of the players buttons, where should be the preview of camera, nothing appear.

If i right click on the image and choose "copy URL of the picture", i got it : "http://192.168.0.146/api/proxy?url=http%3A%2F%2Fadmin%3A***password***%40192.168.0.221%2F%2Fcgi-bin%2Fmjpg%2Fvideo.cgi%3Fsubtype%3D1" so in my opition, it's good, because link is same as MJPG URL.

Camera model is : IPC-HFW4431E-SE

Someone have any idea?

Best regards !

Apparently, it is a H.265&H.264 triple-stream encoding camera. That will not work as HomeCenter2 cannot read H.264 and the like.

@RemiD, check that stream is not h.264 and h.265.  If not, then change autentization from diggest to basic.

Dahua has increased the security of its cameras so I don't think you can set Authentication to basic.
Fibaro HC2 (and HC3) does not support digest authentication as more and more cameras have so these cameras become quite useless in Fibaro.
What you can do is to display a still image with the ONVIF port. Set port ONVIF Authentication to Off.
The following command works and provides still image for me:

I use MJPEG on Stream 2 (on my Technaxx (Dahua) TX-67)

User: admin
Password: my password
Protocol: http
IP-address: 192.168.1.XX:80/onvifsnapshot/media_service/snapshot?channel=1&subtype=2
JPG URL: 192.168.1.XX:80/onvifsnapshot/media_service/snapshot?channel=1&subtype=2
MJPG stream: 192.168.1.XX:80/onvifsnapshot/media_service/snapshot?channel=1&subtype=2

My information are 6 - 8 months old, so it could be out of date. As i do not do Dahua cameras (do not like them much) i'm not keeping tabs on latest parts.

Also, this could help regarding streams.

Technaxx cameras sold in Germany are manufactured by Dahua.
With firmware "4610_TX-67_Firmware_04-2017.bin", the camera in Fibaro works with basic authentication but the image quality is not as good (caused by Fibaro's software).

When firmware "4610_TX-67_Firmware_07-2018.bin" was released, Dahua had blocked "basic authentication" and introduced a higher security level "digest authentication" which unfortunately is not supported by Fibaro.

I guess and believe that this level of security has been incorporated into all Dahua's software.

Besides, I think the TX-67 is a very good camera with many good features, which unfortunately can not be used in Fibaro's controllers.

hi guys, i'm runing tinycam pro since more then a year and no more issues with how the camera encode it stream. You just need an old phone/tablet or tv box under android, pay 3.99€ install setup a forget all your troubles with your cams.

You will see the stream on your HC unfortunatly now the picture isn't refresh since few versions back of HC firmware, but you'll see the stream on your phone/tablet  fibaro App.

Please find this excelent topic here as all credit are going to @dimae

That camera is also h264 encrypted. And Fibaro has never updated the Homecenters ability to work with newer cameras.
