HC2 Lua Run Scene at Certain Time

Question

Posted

Disclaimer: complete novice at lua. I want to learn, am happy to be directed to somewhere I can learn these functions and assemble the scene myself. I have searched for a scene that will run at a certain time the next day and only run the once but I couldn't find anything.

I want to set up a way for my wife to set the washing machine to run at a certain time the next day. The washing machine is plugged into an Aeotec Smart Switch 6 (device 100).

My thoughts are to set up a couple of scenes. The first type scene will set a variable to a value for the main scene to read as a time to start the machine. There would be multiple of these first type of scenes, one for each time the machine is to turn on (e.g. 6, 7, 8, 9)

The main scene will run to turn on device 100 at a time that is stored in a variable.

E.g.

TRIGGER: Run scene/virtual button for which hour am the machine is to turn on

Set variable “PlugRUN” to ? –based on hour desired (e.g. “6” or “0600” for 6am)

Start device 100 at ?am next day.

When scene activated send push notification that washing machine will start at ?am

Once machine started change variable to 0 (stop scene running again the next morning)

Once machine finished send push notification that washing machine finished.

Device 100 is to stay on when scene ends

May I ask you, are you sure by applying power to washing machine it starts? Usually when it powered up, you need to select a program and press start.

Anyhow may I suggest to use

that could do it (and further more actions) without any Lua knowledge.

Let me know if you have decided to use All-in-One Scene and I'll provide the action line....

Thanks I'll have a look at that tomorrow. The machine is an older type with mechanical knobs etc, pull to start push to stop on the main knob. I have already started it successfully via the Fibaro app after setting the machine up the night before.

Excellent... let me know when you need the action line.

BTW if you need an option to set different time when to run the machine, you will also need Virtual Device to set the time.
