Question

Hi,
I use Fibaro for a while now but I never understood how associations needed to be setup. There are several checkboxes and groups what makes it confusing for me?.
For example;
In the hallway I have a dimmer 2 and upstairs I have a dimmer 2. Now I want to setup that if I press the S2 button (one click) that the light upstairs get opposite state(on/off).
The same I have with an other dimmer2.
I want the dimmer 2 upstairs that when I click twice on the S1 button the light on the top floor get the opposite state (on/off).
One other question, can I also use dimmer 2 associations to control (on/off/dim) other lights connected to a dimmer 2 simultaneously without a delay?
But if so, is it correct that this only works manually on not with the app?
At the moment all of the above is functioning with the use of scenes, but if the gateway ever fails I want that it keeps working. Especially to keep the wife happy?
Who can tell me extensively on the basis of a clear step-by-step plan with possibly screenshots how I can do this?
Thank you in advance !!?
