Sony TV: Power status

I have a Sony Android TV (KD-55X8005C) and HC2.

I would like to use the status of the TV as a trigger in a scene.

I have not wish controling the TV, just knowing if it is off or on

I am not sure, that I get the idea.

As far as I know the TV is always on the ethernet, so it can be turned on by the original app for example.

Or am I missing something?

Even the original app doesn’t show TV status, so I’m not sure it’s possible without hardware.

Maybe this will help you:
I did it on a TV that turned on / off with the same command. I used a relay connected to the TV's USB connector.
So you can't avoid investments. The cheapest is to use SmartImplat.
The inverter can be used for power supply directly from the TV

But it is better to keep SmartImplant permanently powered so that it does not get lost from the ZWave network.

It's just a theory, I don't have an Android TV.
After installation, the TV will probably respond to the command sent using HTTPclient Response (OK) 200.
You can try the command from HC to TV:
http: // IP_ADDRESS_OF_ANDROID_TV: 5000 / sendtext = test.me

Theoretically, if the TV is turned off, it will not respond

I have been thinking the same thing, using a smartplug or, as Martin mentioned, fetching a powersignal from the tv. Either from the USB or the scart.

But that was my plan B.

I thought getting the powerstatus via the ethernet woud be quite easy.

I will try installing "Keyboard with REST API" on the TV and see if it works.

I ended up buying the Fibaro wall plug.

This was the easy way.

Using the TV´s api was too big a challange for me

I have done some research when I wanted to control my TV but it looks like you can only send commands to a Sony TV, not ask for information.
