FGS 222 - only three elements?

Guest kallecux

Question

Guest kallecux

Hi there,

i have a FGS-222 and i think that i can use 2 different inputs to control 2 different relais, as shown in this picture:

but, when i include the FGS222 i have only 3 elements with unclear function:

Why only 3? I thought i have 2 Inputs (S1,S2) and 2 Outputs (Q1, Q2).

With S1 i want to trigger the light and with S2 i want to trigger a scene - but how?

Greetings

Karl Heinz

Hi S1 -S2 is for manual switch.

Q1 and Q2 is doing simular as the manual switch only executed by the relais. (On/Off)

HC2 >>Master and 2 operationble devices in my case

1-lampplafond                    ---On/Off

2-alarmapp_hfdslpkmer    --On/Off

  • Hi @Sjakie, thanks for your answer.

    But my question is:

    - Why are there NOT 2 lights? One Light for Q1 and one light for Q2.

You can say Relais 1 is Q1 and Relais 2 is Q2 - then i will ask: Why are the NOT 2 Inputs (Switches)?

It could be, that S1 and S2 are not available per software...?

I want to use S1 or S2 as trigger - not the change of Q1 or Q2.

    Greetings!

    Hi,

    As mentioned

    S1-S2 manual switch

So NOT>>>  It could be, that S1 and S2 are not available per software...?

Again Q1 and  Q2 available for software! Two lights or what ever you want to start.

In my case one light and start arming the house.

Could be also two lights but I dont have an example>>> almost all my lights are HUE  or IKea

You probably are wondering why you don't see separate devicea/channels for two inputs s1/s2 and two outputs q1/q2 and checking inputs independently from outputs.

This is because fibaro switches do not have local protection between inputs and outputs. So the inputs here are only to change the state of the device where it is either switched to on or off. This is by design and value of the signals to the inputs are known only to the internal of the device. This has one outcome - if someone presses the button hardwires to the input you can be sure that the state if the device will change and output state will be reverted.

Switches with independent channels for inputs and outputs does exist. They are known to have something that is called local protection parameter. See fibaro walli or smart implant.

  • Thank you for the detailed answers! I try to understand it!

Two inputs and two outputs (e.g. lamps) that are directly connected internally.

Then why do I see three childs? Would two be more correct?

What is the "spare" part for?

  • Thank you @Petergebruers

you brought light into the cave. :-)

Professional documentation of the fibaro Z-WAVE devices would make this discussion unnecessary.

Greetings and "thank you" to all discussioner!
