Relays, double relays and dimmers not adding to fibaro

Question

Posted

Hey everyone,

I recently reset my HCL to factory settings. I have wall plugs, sensors (multi and door) and smoke sensors)

Wall plugs are all adding on the HCL

Sensors adding

But when i try to add a relays or dimmer, the hcl doesn't do anything. Just counts down. I always delete first but that isn't working either.

Anyone with the same issues??? Surely not all the antennas are busted??? I have 7 relays

What @Sjakie probably meant is "factory reset your devices, not your HCL".

You should be able to delete your devices, if the device is "close enough" to the HCL. It depends on the device, your walls and so on but you can expect 5-10 meter to be OK.

If you cannot delete it, because the signal is to weak, then you won't be able to include it, though you can try to enable NWI option

You don't say which make/model of modules you have... This procedure should always work but you need to check the manual for the right "inclusion" or "exclusion" sequence.

Any controller can exclude and reset any z-wave device at any time. So put your HCx in "delete" mode (devices tab) like you would if you would want to exclude a device. Then perform the "right exclude click sequence" on the device, it is in the manual, it will be the same as the "include" sequence. Many devices allow you to use S1 for that, or a (small) button on the device. The fact that it is not the original hub (the one that included the device) does not matter. Any controller can exclude and reset any z-wave device at any time.

The Exclusion procedure for "Single Switch 2"

Removing (Exclusion) - Z-Wave device learning mode, allowing to remove the device from existing Z-Wave network.
To remove the device from the Z-Wave network:
    1. Place the Switch 2 within the direct range of your Z-Wave controller.
    2. Identify the S1 switch.
    3. Set the main controller in remove mode (see the controller’s manual).
    4. Quickly, three times press the S1 switch.
    5. Wait for the removing process to end.
    6. Successful removing will be confirmed by the Z-Wave controller’s message.

Again, you may think: "this won't work because the device was never included on this controller" but that does not matter. Please do try it, it will work, I am 100% certain. It is a feature of Z-Wave.

In case of problems with adding/removing using S1 switch, use B-button instead (located on the housing)

    Yes Peter.

I had also some problems to include after a factory reset of my HC2.

Unable to include, (I mostly exclude twice)

After a reset of the device, how you will find in the manual, it included in one time without any problem.

    Succes,
