Question

Is it possible for 1 permanent live to power 3 Dimmer 2s?

I have 1 live permanent live which goes into a junction box and splits it to 3 cables.

Obviously the switched live then goes to each ceiling light.

  • Ok great.

So Dimmer No. 1 wired up and works fine.

However, the light connected to Dimmer No.2 seems to be on continuously regardless of the state of the physical switch or the home automation system.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  • So I've managed to rule out Dimmer No. 1 being the issue. I removed it and left Dimmer No. 2 in place.

The light connected to Dimmer No. 2 is still on all time time. Feels like the wiring isn't quite right.

take a look at this. This is how to wire it up.... If you have wired up this way and lights still on then error with module. Try resetting module, i have not shown a bypass but that would be added in parallel with the load. sometimes if the bulb load you are using is below 47w then you would need to add a bypass module.

  • 2 out of 3 working :)

The last one is 2 powering 2 LED bulbs. When I turn the lighting circuit back on, the LEDs turn on but dimmer than usual. If I turn them on, the flicker for a second then go back down to a lower level.

Is this a case for the bypass? The LEDs are only 2.5w each so 5w in total

    Thanks!
