Connecting heating to non-smart thermostat

Question

Posted

Hello,

First of all: I'm really sorry if I posted this question in a wrong section, I'm still quite new here ;)

I'd like to extend my smart home capabilities to control room temperatures.

My home consists of 4 rooms where I have radiators, and one section where I have floor heater installed.

I have a non-smart DeDietrich gas heater along with thermostat and a ZigBee-based floor heating thermostat.

For rooms I'd buy 4 The Heat Controllers that would solve the problem of controlling temperature in my rooms. What puzzles me is: what should I do with the gas heater thermostat? Should I _just_ set high enough temperature there, and let radiators deal with the rest? Is it safe/economically viable to set high temperature on thermostat without having any element that receives the produced heat (in a case where all radiator vales are closed because it's hot enough)?

- If not, maybe I should buy some fibaro-compatible thermostats? (MCO Home?)

Aaand the last question goes to the floor heater: What should I do with that? From what I know, there's no zigbee support in HC3 at the moment. I'm not in the rush though, heating season is coming in few months, so I might wait, if there is any possibility that it would be compatible.
