Underfloor electric heating - Heatmiser neoStat replace with Fibaro

Hi all,

I have some electric underfloor heating and it's wired up to a

.  Annoyingly the neoStat has a bright blue backlight which you can't disable.  More annoyingly - it gets randomly triggered by a super-sensitive in-built presence sensor.  Having the effect of illuminating the entire room in the middle of the night, if someone gets within about 3 feet of it.  So, was wondering if I could just rip it out and replace it with a Fibaro.

Would a Fibaro Implant work here?  Anyone done this?

Thanks,

I don't know about a SmartImplant. I have electric floor heating in the bathroom and use one of these.

Maybe this one could be interesting for you.

The one I have is the picture below. The light is so dim it almost hard to read, but just as I like it. When it is off it is completely off. Turning it on is by buttons or through my HC2. I don't like the buttons on the device, but I control it mainly by voice through my HC2 or with activating a scene manually.

Thanks @Jeroen_ this does look very interesting and a good alternative to the Neo!

I'd still like to know if the Smart Implant would replace the Neo though, then I'd just use a blanking plate instead and fully automate the control.

I'm curious about that too. I think it won't be easy. Perhaps you could measure the output to the heating wire when heating is on max (Voltage and Current) and then try to stimulate this with a relay or something and the right power source. I assume the thermostat will regulated this in a more advanced manner. My system also has a floor temp sensor. This can probably also be connected to a Smart Implant, but won’t be plug and play. For this some advance electrical knowledge is necessary, but everything is possible if you are handy enough ?
