help needed: Walli Dimmer in "Stair switch" config

Hi all,

I know this is a common question, however I did not find the answer to my question, yet.

 

I have two switches (no N wire) that switch the same light.

Setup is like this: 

One switch has Live and 2 Com wires connected

the other switch has the Load and 2 com wires connected.

 

Could someone lead me in the right direction how to connect Walli dimmers/switches (if that is needed)

Should I post pictures of my config?

All you have to do is think of the two physical switches as one logical on-off switch, and wire up per the wiring diagram in the fibaro manual. Use the wire from the right switch terminal marked P as the switch input to your fibaro device.

 

Select toggle as the switch type in the advanced settings, and do other configuration as normal.

ok, so actually I do not need the com wires anymore, right? I think that's where I was struggling...

Hello. Is the below diagram going to work, or I will burn something? I intend to use Dimmer 2 module.

A the moment, I have 3 switches, connected in traditional way in a row - first S1 is connected to Lead, last one (S3) to the Light.

There is no "N" available.

I was following this diagram, found on the forum and instalator guide, but this applies to the Dimmer 1.

 

 

Or maybe this would be better?

Correct @Enriquez you don't need a neutral for the dimmer 2. (You might need a Fibaro Bypass is you have a load under 50W though).

 

You'll wire up using one of the diagrams in the dimmer 2 manual, not dimmer 1. Choose the one that corresponds to your switch type - toggle or momentary.

In the manual, the momentary switches are between Sx and S1. Question is, can I provide "L" signal to S1 from L, instead of Sx ?

No, you should only wire up as shown in the manual diagrams. Risk of fire or electrocution otherwise!

That's sad, the Fibaro cannot produce the elements who fits the existing solutions.

I'm disappointed a bit.

With a bit of thinking, you can probably make this work.  For example, maybe you can change the location of the device - behind switch plate or behind lamp fitting, depending on what connections you have available.  Also, you can re-purpose cables - put some heatshrink on a cable to change it's designation.   I retrofitted Dimmer2's without needing extra wiring by putting in the ceiling behind the lamp.

OK. I will answer my question myself.

This diagram works, without any issues (I added the bypass to the light source):

No any wire change needed.

Hello 

I have the same cable setup in my house 3 switches controlling one light.

but on switch a is my live cable and on switch c is my neutral.

 

did your diagram work with the live going through the switch to the Fibaro dimmer ?
