Dimmer 2 to control Philips Hue/Smart bulbs via Hub

SadikP

Question

Hi,

is it possible to disable local control of the dimmer 2 (so that power to the lamp is not cut off or reduced) & use the switch presses of a momentary switch as to initiate functions of a Hue bulb/smart bulb via a hub (SmartThings/HC3 etc)?

@SadikP

If you don't use the dimmer to control the light directly. don't connect the bulb to the dimmer.

No, without the bulb you need a neutral.

if you use a hue hub you can loose the dimmer and use a hue dimmer (they are battery operated.
