"Export historical data" all data in one column in Excel.

Hi all!

 

I did my first "Export historical data" from one of my smart plugs just now since I wanted to know the lowest value on my washers power consumption cycle. When I got the .csv file opened in Excel all the data was crammed in column "A". This is not ideal...since it makes it virtually impossible to sort the values...even finding individual values is a pain...

 

Did I do something wrong or is it always like this? I googled it and saw pictures of other people that have the data separated in individual columns though...

You can save the file as a .TXT file which you then open in Excel.
When you then open the file in Excel, use first
Demarcated fields
and then
Comma

Sweet! It's been a while since I used Excel to do anything more "advanced"...but now that you showed me I do remember doing just that at some point in the past.

You can mass import or update work items with CSV files in other programs. Then there will be no cell failure. If you use an Excel attribute, all formulas will be lost when transferring data to another program format. Better

to this site and see the option of exporting or transferring the data with the formatting intact. While you can continue to use Excel for bulk imports and updates, it's worth using the built-in import and export function that doesn't require Excel.
