Multiple HC2's, how to setup

Twannie

Question

Hi

I have 2 HC2, one is running (A) everything and now I want to add the second one so I can use it for testing(B).

Can I setup in this way and can someone explain how?

A should stay the main controller

B should be able to get the devices from A (same ID#?) so I can testrun lua an vd's with B

Is this possible and with which controller do I have to do this, A or B?

I do not think you can do it that way.
A Zwave device can only be connected to one controller at a time. If you want to test with controller B, the device must first be excluded from A and then included to B. Or you can get separate devices to test on controller B.

But if you just want to test new scenes or VD, you can do it on A where the units are located.

@Twannie

afaik

The second hc2 (test unit) should be the master hc2 and the main hc2 the slave device.

so you can see all devices that the master has , on the slave hc2

and also events etc created on the slave  hc2 wil work

.

    To get things clear:

    So... the "A" (old master)  still runs on itself when "B" is disconnected or switched off?

    And how to set up, on which HC2 should I add the secondary controller, on "B"(test) using the "add secondary controller"?

    and another question, if setup as mentioned, can I put "A" back as only and main controller when for example "B" is broken (so I have to do this in controller "A"!!)

    So whatever happens, "A" should be able to run on itself

    @Twannie

    exactly what it says, adding a secondy controller

    secons one is, if you have a secondary controller, transfer the role as main controller

    The master has all devices,

    the slave has all the devices from the master and the devices connected to the slave.

    If the slave fails or shutdown, the master can run all devices and events on the master.

    if the master fails the slave can not do anything.

    Not secondary, just master/slave configuration.
