Question about LUA scenes

If you create a LUA scene I can enter code in the action panel on HC3. I can run the scene and the code will run.

But how is this handled from an automation perspective? All the devices are present in the LUA code. What will be the trigger to run it? How should I handle this?

The triggers that start your scene is defined in the left hand panel (conditions) of the scene editor. The syntax is not that intuitive. You can define a block scene and then convert it to a lua scene (there is a button for that) or read up on the scene documentation
