Hello,

I have an fgs-224 hooked up to the 24v ac on my driveways automatic gate motor. It is recognised fine and I can trigger the switch and here to fgs-224 switching.

My security gate has a safety photocell which can provide a no voltage contact when either the security cell is made or broken.

I was hoping that I could use the output from the photocell as the input switch for the fgs-224 so I know when someone passes the photocell.

however if I connect the photocell output to the switch on the fgs-224 It doesn’t like that there is voltage I think.

can anyone help please?

here is the photocell showing the connections.

Picture doesn't work.

How are you powering the FGS-224? The manual says you can use 100-240v ac or 24-30v dc. You should use the same power source to the relay on the photocell,  which the connects to S1. The online manual has a circuit diagram. You can't use 24v ac as the switch input

    Apologies. I meant 24v dc.

the fgs-224 is powered by the same 24dc as the bft desme photocell.

but if I try to put the output switch of the photocell across s1 and live on the fgs-224 it stops the photocell working. Is this because it’s putting voltage through the photocell?

This is the photocell manual. Any help really appreciated

ok that's good about the powering voltage.  Neither of your links in your posts work though...

If the photo cell has a relay output (ie "no voltage contact"), then you should just be wiring this up per diagram 1 in the fgs-224 online manual, where the switch shown represents your relay contact.

The problem is when I put the output of the photo sensor across L and S1 on the fgs-224 it stops the bft photocell working. Which I can’t understand as i believe it’s just a voltage free contact on the photosensor.

Not sure why the links don’t work but if you google “bft desme a15 manual” , the first result shows the sensors connections.

    really appreciate your help
