HC3 and Google Nest - Special offer! (Not really after market price adjustments)

Recommended Posts

Manufactures are not allowed to force retailers to set the price of their product.

If you look at all the shops that sell the special offer, you will see that the Google Nest hub is NOT totally free of charge. Retailers in the BeNeLux are now selling the "HC3" and the "HC3 + Google Nest" as two different products, whereby the version with the Google Nest is either "Free of charge" (For the expensive retailers, that did not yet drop the price of the HC3 alone and are now only selling the bundle) or simply upto 50 euro more expensive.

So the Special offer should read. "Google Nest Hub for 50 euro instead of ~86 euro.

(I guess from Fibaro this started as a good idea, but the market has already adapted its price to this, To my opinion not really a Special offer anymore and for sure not free of charge.)

  • Prices have now completely adjusted at multiple shops. You now just pay the Google Nest for the same price as if you would buy it seperately. The bundle with the voucher is now the same price as an individual Fibaro HC3 + an individual Google Nest.

In other words the bundle is now already ~ 80 euro more expensive as a standalone Fibaro HC3, i.e. you just pay the regular price of the Google Nest extra for the bundle.

The advertisement of a free Google Nest Hub is now, just 3 weeks after the anouncement of the special offer, completely false.

There is some irony to that as a bundle anyway, since HC3 and Nest has mostly no integration today - not even sure what the value proposition would look like selling them in combination.

holding out on hope for HC3/Nest support one day!

It's a better idea to give the early adopters a special prize for the google hub.

we are in fact the beta testers.
