Virtual Thermostat and Interlock

Question

Posted

Hi everyone,

I'm having a few issues trying to get my  heating system to operate properly. Here is what I've got so far;

  • Home Center Lite (But I can upgrade to a Home Center 2 if needed)
  • Mitsubishi Mini-Split controlled by FIBARO Smart Implant
  • Electric Fan Heater controlled with a contactor that is controlled by a FIBARO Switch 2
  • A FIBARO Smart Implant that has a DS18B20 (External temperature) attached
  • FIBARO Motion Sensor (monitoring room temperature)

What I'd like to do is use the Motion Sensor to determine the room temp. and a heating panel to control the heating schedule. I'd like the Mitsubishi to heat and cool the room. Then I'd like the Fan Heater to run on the same Heating Panel but be interlocked with the Mitsubishi so that when the DS18B20 reads less then -20 outside (I live in Canada?...)  the Mitsubishi shuts off and the Fan Heater takes over.

Has anyone done this type of setup before or have any idea how to do this? I've built a hidden scene that tells the fan heater to shut off at temps greater the -20 and the Mitsubishi to turn off at temps less the -20 but the Heating Panel seems to override the scenes.

Any help would be appreciated.
