Home Centre 2 overheating

Question

Posted

Hi All

I have a professional installer setting up automation in my home. My Home centre 2 is kept in a data cupboard with a fan which extracts air at the top of the cupboard. The HC2 is still running at 46c or 116f yet is recommended to be no hotter than 40c. Ambient temp of the cupboard is about 32c or 89f. My processional installer said not to worry they run hot. Do you think this is a faulty unit or not enough air flow? its literally to hot to hold comfortably. Any feedback would be appreciated..

It’s normal to reach 40° or so, but the temperature of the internal components is more important. It's a passive cooler and they use the aluminium enclosure for it, heat distribution is very good.

The 40°C Fibaro mentioned is, I think, in open air and not in a cupboard ?

@Patrick Nugent

  • If you leave the cabinet open, what is the temperature of the HC2?
  • Can fresh air be drawn in when the cabinet is closed?
