Yr weather polling frequency?

Question

Posted

Hi,

My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

I'm running a HC2 and have some window awnings controlled by Fibaro Roller Shutter 3.

I am using block scenes to incrementally close the blinds as they follow the sun across the day and then open the blinds at sunset - all works reasonably well.  To protect the blinds in strong winds I included a condition that if the wind is greater the 35km/hr the blinds are to open.

My question, as I look outside and see that it is blowing a gale - is how often does Yr weather update conditions?  It appears to me less than once every couple of hours?  This doesnt really suit my needs if the wind picks up quickly.  Is there a better way to do this?  Can I make it poll Yr more often?

Cheers.

no.

the 1st of Yr provide OWN refresh time for updating weather

2nd when you poll often Yr you have a two cases

1st case - you getting weather from Yr cache

2nd case - you (not always.) Yr can bun your IP address

(TBH here is also 3rd case.... on the FIBARO forum "appear" Yr manager and will asking to stop poling Yr API too often)

and last. in response Yr API always return nextrun field what saying whe you should poll Yr again.

here is my own - custom Yr providers

for HC3

The only right way is to use your own weather station (or at least an anemometer). You answered yourself ... in the event of a sudden local situation ... that's what the local anemometer indicates.
I use Openweathermap and its API in the FREE version. There are conditions: 60 calls / minute, 1,000,000 calls / month
