TTS questions HC2 Sonos

Question

Posted

Hi,

I have added TTS scenes to my HC2 to send TTS to my Sonos speaker by using the LUA code below. But I have some questions and hope someone can help me to solve these.

1. When the scene is triggered the music stops but then it takes around the 6 seconds before the text is spoken. How to solve this delay?

2. I use the dutch voice and it isn't always clear what "she" said, but is there a way to adjust the speek speed rate?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

First of all, Happy New Year!!

I decided to create some audio files and place them on my Synology NAS. What is the LUA code so I can use these files?

This is my code for spoken mp3 files.

Also I had delays when reading TTS and sometimes it was like you are typing

I have voices recorded in mp3 format on Qnap and it can play mp3s from there.

Before that, I recorded them from TTS to mp3 on free sites and also added a little bell to the mp3 file before saying a line.

Everything works and looks much nicer to the ear. ;)

Yes, I came up with the same solution.
For our language (CZ), the sound of TTS is unpleasant and, moreover, it is a man.
I have all the pre-recorded messages stored on USB (my NAS may not run because of this). I have the weather, time and warning reported directly from the streamer so that children do not forget the umbrella when it rains :)
Yes, it takes a bit of work, but it will work, even if some TTS cloud just goes out or you lose your API key.
