Motion Sensor low lux reading

LB99

Question

Hello,

I just purchased a Fibaro Motion Sensor (using with SmartThings) and I'm finding the lux reading is very low.

I also purchased a Aeotec TriSensor to compare against.

I set both to report lux on a 5 lux change so I get fast reporting for testing.

Lights off in the bedroom and just the TV on (but not facing the TV).

Fibaro around 4

Aeotec around 10

Lights on in the bedroom

Fibaro around 18

Aeotec around 300

Shine a flashlight directly into each unit

Fibaro 3000-4000

Aeotec 3000-4000

So it is ready light but it can't pick up very much ambient light.

Fibaro thinks the sensor might be broken but they don't have SmartThings to test it, but it's brand new and I've found a number of posts from people here and on SmartThings and Hubitat they have the same issue using different platforms.

So before I spend too much time on it or return it for another one, I wanted to see if anyone is getting significant lux changes (like 200-300 lux change) when they turn on a light in a room.

Thanks.
