Hello
Seeking help or clarification or thoughts on the fire hazard that occurred in my house. What could have been the reason or cause?
Photos attached in the pdf
I have recently installed 10 Fibaro double and single switch 2, for my houses external lights. All wall lights with integrated LED bulbs.
For about a period of about a week all worked fine wirelessly being able to control the devices, scenes working nicely turning on and off with sunset and sunrise. Until this device gave a status of no connection on the home center app, so I called the electrician to come inspect. When we opened the switch we have found the switch in the melted situation which is self explanatory in the photos.
By the time the electrical came to inspect another switch also became off line Whiling inspecting we decided to check all the other switches;
1 - This switch controlled 13 LED wall lights and on the app they were showing to be consuming approximately 130W or 140W from what I recall. ( the melted device)
2- The switch controlling the parallel wall 13 lights also got disconnected but when inspected had no signs of damage or smoldering on the plastic case. (not working no signs of damage but dead not working)
3- Front and back on walls approximately same amount of lights, controlled by two other switches. ( Were still working fine.)
4- The balance switches were working fine but 2 felt warm to the touch and had a slight smoldering smell.
This was clearly was a very dangerous fire hazard so we decided to remove all the Fibaro switches from the light switches until we understand the sitituion or what went wrong.
