Make a table of devices with a group option HC3

Question

Posted

I have approx 30 odd lighs which i would like to gorup in to 7 different groups and then run a time based scene to switch on and off.

the simple way would be to just use fibaro.call and then list the numbers however as i dont know what the numbers are without looking up it can be confusing later on when trying to troubleshoot or change settings.

can soemone please help me with how i can make a table with the device id, device name and groupname, which i can then use in a scene.

many thanks for any help provided.

    have managed to find a way around by defining all the lights as an individual local and then make groups like this

        GroupDay = {HallwayOuter,Kitchen,MorningInner,Dining,LivingInner,Cloakroom,Succah}
        gd = 7

    for i=1,gdo do fibaro.call(GroupDay ,'turnOn') end

    from my understanding this is sort of making a table and then using it below would really like some feedback if this is the most elegant way of doing it

    I’m not sure if I understand correctly what you want to achieve, maybe you can use this.

    In one of my QuickApps I retrieve all energy devices in a variable. That could also work on light devices. With this you have one variable with all light devices. You can turn them on and of with some Lua code.

    if this isn’t what you need, maybe look at the script to create a HomeTable.
