Receiving short text strings and responding using HC2 and LUA

I have a legacy home automation system (HAI Omni Pro II) and have upgraded to a HC2 and converted all the systems (lighting, cameras, device control etc) across to z-wave. I have 20+ motion sensors and it will be a lot of work and cost to convert them all across to work directly with the HC2.

I can program the Omni Pro to send messages to any IP address such as "sensor 12 tripped".

Does the HC2 receive text messages on a specific port?

How do I write a LUA scene to interpret and respond to the message?

I have searched but cannot find any examples of the HC2 receiving and responding to messages over HTTP.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.
