12v triggers from AV amplifier to Implant

Question

Posted

Hi all, Anyone have any idea how to make the implant report back to HC2 that the 12v trigger output is active on an AV receiver?

The receiver has 2 12v outs that can be set in it's meu system to be on when certain inputs are selected, I'd like to have a couple of scenes to turn on certain fans when the triggers are active.

There are 3 compartments in cupboard, 1 Playstation, 2 AVR, 3 Cable box, Bluray etc.

When Playstation is on, trigger 1 is active so I'd like fan 1 PS and fan 2 AVr on fan 3 off

When cable box or bluray is on, trigger 2 is active, so i'd like fan 2 avr and fan 3 bluray etc on, fan 1 off

fan 2 avr to run from implant int temp sensor when trigger 1 and 2 are off

is this possible?

Hi @Jamie B,

Since receiver gives 12V on outputs it is recommended to use 12V relays to be activated by this outputs and then this relay contacts connected to smart implant inputs that are set as alarm inputs (see parameters 20 and 21). This way input will then trigger smart implant corresponding output that will then start fans. Since maximum allowed current on smart implant outputs is 150mA you will have to use additional relays to switch fan power if they draw more than 150mA.

With this connection you will not need additional code to start/stop fans depending on the state of receiver outputs, but you will get status from universal implant which can be used as needed. Fans will automatically start or stop following receiver input selection.
