Single temperature device for multiple room

Question

Posted

Dear Members,

is it possible to use one single temperature sensor for multiple room as main temperature sensor?

For example I have a temperature sensor in the living room, but living room is in common space with the kitchen, so based on common airspace they have common temperature.

Thank you,

Gabor

No, this could be possible if Fibaro would allow to treat Virtual Device sensors same as real temperature sensors. As far as I know this is impossible.

@bgabika,

I have the same situation, and it depends on what you want to achieve.

If you want to control the heating using the heating panel, then it works.

I have 1 temperature sensor in the living room, that I want to also be used for the underfloor heating in the kitchen.

To do so, I use 2 linked devices in the heating panel. First one connects the living room temperature sensor with the switch

for the living room heating. Second one connects the same living room temperature sensor with the switch for kitchen heating.

If you now want them to be controled as one heating zone, then you set up 1 heating zone and assign living room and kitchen to it.

If you want them to be controled separately (because you have tiles in the kitchen and want them to be warm in the morning earlier), then you

set up 2 heating zones, one for living room and one for kitchen.

Note: you won't see a temperature in the room view or APP for the kitchen.
