Question

I use HC3 and recently I installed Home Assistant because it is easier to use it for certain scenarios I need for integration with UNIFI cameras and Doorbell.

I installed standard Fibaro integration on Home Assistant side and I have all Fibaro devices in Home Assistant.

Then I noticed strange behaviour: From Home Assistant I can see all devices as read only entities (e.g.sensor values) and I can trigger certain device type such as WallPlug but from all other device types (smart implant, roller shutter) I can see only state (on/off or whatever) but I am not able to trigger them from Home Assistant side.

I wonder whether anybody uses Home Assistant - Fibaro integration and what is experience of other users?

All my HC2 devices work great in HA. I've moved to HA couple years ago and never looked back. I have gradually migrated all automations from HC2 and now I use it as a dumb z-wave gateway. I regret ever purchasing HC2, I should have gone with HCL.

Fibaro devices are great, but the software is years behind by now and I don't believe Fibaro will ever be able to catch up.

Forget Fibaro and move all you can to HA. This was one of the best decisions I've ever made on home automation.

You can use ha directly with zwave nodes by using zwave stick. No need for fibaro hub, at all.

thanks guys. I'm fully aware of this but I already have HC3 and lots of things up and running on it.

The only thing I want is to use Fibaro implant or Roller Shutter in Home Assistant GUI and it seems that out of the box integration allows me to get only state and I am not able to trigger any device attached to Fibaro HC3.
