Aeotec Home Energy Meter

Question

Posted

Hello!

 I want to see the total electricity consumption of the building. My question: does anyone use Aeotec Home Energy Meter? Or something similar you use? I will be glad to receive any advice.

@coonrado

It depends on the situation, the qubino has no current clamps, the current passes directly trough it. If you want to measure a hole house, you have to open the main wires and connect theme directly to the qubino.  In and out. Sometimes there's simply not enough space in the switchbox to do that.

Therefore I find the Aeotec HEM5 much easier to install with the current clamps.

@spoon

Also make sure, you have the latest Firmware from aeotec support. They can sent you the latest firmware for your Z-Wave region.

In my case in europe, I've got the HEM5 firmware 1.6. Only with this firmware the HEM5 startet to work correctly together with hc3 an hc3l.
