Device queued for update

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I couldnt find a "device update" topic, so i decided to put it out here.

Two days ago i got a notification in HC3 that my sensor AEOEZWA005 (tri sensor from Aotec) has a new update for download

I downloaded it and started the installation

From that  moment its saying " queued for  download"  and nothing is happening, and I can do nothing about it.

Can someone give me some support how to handle this?

Thanks in advance

@Neo Andersson You can not update brands other than Fibaro's products in HC3. If you want to update your Aeotec, you must use an Aeotec Z-Wave stick.
But if I have understood it correctly so when Z-Wave 3 is implemented in HC3 then maybe you can update other brands via a downloaded file.
Z-Wave 3 is in the latest beta, but not the feature to update via a file.

  • I tried to reboot. Nothing changed.

Actually it is the FGMS001v2 type from Fibaro. First i thought its the Aeotec, but its not. Its Fibaro product.

actually not exactly true, with starting from Beta 5.071.52, and when running Z-Wave 3 engine, one can upload firmware files and update third part z-wave devices (actually all, not only 3rd part, however you will not get the firmware files from FIBARO)

this is batery powered device, you have to wake up it to get the update process started (click 3 times the button inside the Motion Sensor).

just let it run, sometime UI shows not updated values, sometimes cache issue (CTRL+F5).

I would also suggest to have that device near your HC, to avoid timeouts

You can try to do a manual Factory reset first.

Start by excluding the device from your HC3, then....

    Reset to factory default
This device also allows to be reset without any involvement of a Z-Wave controller.
This procedure should only be used when the primary controller is inoperable.

The Fibaro Motion Sensor reset erases the EPROM memory, including all information on the Z-Wave network and the main controller.
    Fibaro Motion Sensor"s reset procedure:
    1. Make sure the battery works and is in place.
    2. Press and hold the B-button for 4-6 seconds until the LED glows signaling the 2nd menu level.
    3. Release the B-button.
    4. Again, press the B-button briefly.
    5. Successful reset will be confirmed with the LED changing colour to red and fading.

Then add the device again (near your HC3) and then try to update the device.
I can not guarantee that this works, but I myself would have tried this.
