Control 2 speed fan with fgr 223

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi, hoping for advice how I can operate a 2 speed fan with the fgr 223. It works fine BUT I can't seem to disable the timer. The fan will not stay on indefinitely and para 156 & 157 turns it off after the set time.

I assume you mean parameters 16 and 17 (156 and 157 do not exist).
If I understand you correctly, the fan starts properly, but you want to turn it off before the timer has expired?
Is it a motion sensor or a switch that starts the timer?

the application is a hob extractor fan that doesn't need a timer. I want to disable the timer and only operate it with S1 and S2 (and openhab). Are you looking at roller shutter 3? Parameters start with 20; 156 and 157 are 'Time of up/down movement' and max out at 65535=655 seconds (well, i mange to get 90000=900sec in openhab).

(I just use the Fibaro Binary Switch with a fan with Perilex Power Plug, so I could easily find the wires to switch.)

    Why a roller shutter?

not sure what you mean, binary switch? as in FGS-213?

my fan motor is a 2 speed, coil with tap. the way i've connected it and planned on using it is Down speed one, UP speed two. Using two FGS-213 or one FGS-223 would be messy.

One Double Relay Switch (FGS-222). Why would that be messy?

don't think you can interlock Q1 with Q2 and vice versa, as in turn the opposite off, can you? If not then the one connected to the short tap will force the speed whatever the other output does.

It is quite simple, if switch 1 is on, turn switch 2 off and if switch 2 is on, turn switch 1 off. Nothing fancy.

Excuse me but I read wrong and thought you meant a relay switch.

Using a Roller Shutter for that purpose I do not think works.

Then it is better to do as @SmartHomeEddy suggests.
