Fibaro Dimmer - ON/OFF mode - feature request

Recommended Posts

Hi @m.roszak, All, Fibaro Team ( if you reading )

Fibaro Dimmer 2 has a very good option - to work in ON/OFF mode - when dimming is not possible. It helps in 2-wire connection scheme, where is no neutral wire present.

But when ON/OFF mode is active - there is still dimming controls in UI - please see screenshot below - left picture

Is it possible to show this device as standard light switch - right picture ?

It so much better in case of logic of device operation.

Thanks

Thanks, this looks easy to do but in fact needs some hardcoding and hacking to make it like suggested.
Device does not change its type in this case, only control alghoritm.

Anyway, I will add this to the backlog for both Dimmer2 and WalliDimmer as those works almost identical from UI.

I did another research from my side and I can give you good example how to manage it in simple way.

Aeotec Nano Dimmer have 2 different child's - Binary Switch and Multilevel Switch - please see picture.

I can hide multilevel in ON / OFF mode and use only Binary.

Also I can write QA, which parsing all Multilevel Switches with ON/OFF mode enabled - create child's as Binary Switches for QA and hide real devices. But this is so wrong :)

Dimmer2 and WalliDimmer does not support BinarySwich command class so this won't work.
I have an idea how to menage this but I need to talk with the team first :)
