Devices on slave have gone unresponsive and non-removable

Hi,

 

I managed to upgrade HC3 & HC3L to this version (5.080.9).

 

I then added devices (4) to HC3L all working ok created a scene for one of the devices again all working beautifully, this was Friday.

 

Since Saturday the devices do not respond at all to on or off commands, there are no errors at all. The device says that it is off regardless of wether it has been sent an on or off command.

 

So I think; ok I’ll remove the device(s) and start again… I can not remove the device(s) I press the minus sign pick Slave gateway activate device manually no joy! Also tried pressing the trash can next to the device and nothing happens.

 

I don’t know why it worked and now doesn’t.

 

Also on my iPad the top menu where you see notifications etc. Is not visible, it is on my computer, but not on the iPad. Again this was there when I first upgraded… strange.

 

Another observation is that in dark mode you change the colour of the gateway devices from blue=master orange=slave in light mode to red=master orange=slave in dark mode the difference in interface between red and orange is not discernible enough to be clear. i.e. the small vertical bar at the beginning of each device in devices view.

To me it sounds like your HC3L has rebooted and to be able to get in contact with it again, you have to restart the master also.

Have you tried to restart the master?

Yes both rebooted and Master says that Slave is connected.

And the master was the last to boot? The slave will show up as connected, even if it has rebooted and is not really connected at all. At least that is my experience.

Thanks for the reply, please can you tell me what the solution is on here? Because I contacted support and got nowhere the agent didn’t even know how to find my post on this forum. So having already typed my problem out here I then had to read it to him, he still didn’t understand the problem, I told him that you had said there is a solution, and has now asked me to email him the same thing frustrated is an understatement!

Instruction for support (how to handle this) was send 2h ago - it is possible that you have contacted them before that.
I will make sure that they have got this. 

The first step is to rollback with master and slave to 5.070 - then, one minor tweak in the system and normal update to 5.080.
Support needs remote access enabled for few minutes.

Next release will resolve this, if you are not in a hurry to get 5.080 then you can wait.

If you like to update right now just contact support, one flag needs to be added on slave gateway.

No I contacted them half an hour ago.

 

Anyway in the meantime I have had the briefest of power cuts, lasting only a couple of seconds

 

 Now everything is working again!!!

 

I don’t understand… before I tried unplugging the units and rebooted them master first then slave = nothing and then slave first master second and still nothing worked but this power cut has it all working.

 

It would be good if we could have a system that was not sensitive to power-on order.

I'm not in a hurry, fibaro thought me that over the years

 

Please add to the update that master/slave users can't do the update

Or retract this update and fix it
