Cannot access gateway LAN settings HC2 after update 4.620 - Unable to read network settings. Please try again

Hi, my HC2 is not accessible anymore after update to 4.620.

I followed the steps to Recovery mode, but after recovery to default factory settings I noticed the HC2 is still using firmware 4.620 and still contains my latest configuration. But at least I am able to login using the url 192.168.81.1.

Only problem left: I cannot change the LAN settings to use DHCP.

When I browse to URL http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/network.html it is not opening that page

These configuration pages open:

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/index.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/users.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/diagnostic.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/connections.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/location.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/notification-center.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/wizard/

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/zwave.html

These pages don't open, and stay in some state to open the page

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/backups.html

http://192.168.81.1/fibaro/en/configuration/network.html

I also followed the steps to use the API set network settings. The Get operation is giving error:

{ "reason": "Network error", "message": "Unable to read network settings. Please try again." }

Does anyone know how to resolve this? Recovery mode did not seem to reset it to factory settings. I am hoping to only resolve the access to LAN settings.

hold "+" button for 10 seconds or so and watch the LEDs and Fibaro Finder, the HC2 should then get IP over DHCP. After it got that, connect and change to static IP, save and reboot.

Thanks for the response. Does this force Recovery mode?

In the mean time I have been able to access the backup page, to notice that I have no access to the Cloud storage backups, and Local backups seem to have disappeared too? I have created now a local backup again, but not sure where these files are saved?

no, this will only change the IP from the 192.168.81.1 to DHCP (and vice versa)

when your HC does not have connecttion to internet (with 192.168.81.1 will not work, unless your router can route that network to WAN) you will not see any cloud backups

local backups are nice, to create and export (to be imported later after e.. factory reset), but when you run ractory reset, they gone.

Mmhh, This morning I have configured a spae ASUS router to 192.168.81.xxx range and connected both my laptop and HC2 to this router that has access via its WAN port to internet. THis approach I took to ensure I can see my HC2 on the 192.168.81.xxx and make it connect to internet via router.

So, I don't understand why I don't see my Cloud backup I created before.

change it back to what it was before (and ensure HC got IP from that network), might be hardcoded  approach in HC2 firmware. Btw, date/time are proper?

    Hi tinman,

I followed your steps. After + button for 10 seconds, HC2 got a new ip address assigned via DHCP. I am now able to see lan settings again and cloud backups. It is all still in the 192.168.81.x range, will change it now back to my router env and should be ok now.

Many thanks for your support! Much appreciated.

    Cheers,

I think when HC2 had the default ip address 192.168.81.1 and my router was set to 192.168.81.5 HC2 was not able to connect to internet, after DHCP turned on, internet access was restored, and cloud storage acccessible again. Anyway, problem solved now.

    Cheers
