HC3 Smoke Sensor - "4x Associations" fibaro V2 Z-wave Plus not working

diamant

Question

Hello,

can anyone help me step by step on these Smoke Sensor Associations?

I keep trying but if the alarm sounds then the alarm does not go to the next 3 smoke sensors!?  so the alarm doesn't go off on everything else in the house.

Is this possible? and is it otherwise possible to activate the other via the hc3? (not so safe)

i try this but it's not working:

  1. Go to device options by clicking the icon

Please login or register to see this image.

  2. Select the „Advanced” tab
  3. Specify to which group and what devices are to be associated
  4. Wait for the configuration process to end. Sending relevant information to devices added to associated groups may take up to a few hours depending on the previous configuration parameters settings.
  5. Wake up the device manually to speed up the configuration process

thank you!

Associating one sensor to another won't work -> you sensors are Routing Sleeping Slaves (see Z-Wave Specification), there is no way to wake them up on demand.
Communication with Sleeping Slave is possible only during periods when those device Wake Up periodically (or on user interaction one the module itself).

but how long is the time between the wakeup time then? and is it not possible at all with this sensors? i wait for one minute after creating a smoke alarm (with some special smoke spray)and still no alarm from the other 3 sensors!?

    i set parameter 2 to 3 and 13 to 3...maybe it's working....

This wakeup period is normally few hours ;)

This generally won't matter, it is not possible to trigger an alarm on any Smoke Sensor using radio - this just work like that with sleeping devices.

so impossible.....it's not save for me then.....

maybe with a zwave sirene? the smoke censors can trigger a sirene i think?

    thank you!

Smoke sensor can trigger other devices but those needs to me mains powered :)

do i need to make a scene for all the smoke sensors to give alarm to the sirene then?

It will depend on the siren - you should be able to use association group 2 to control the siren (it sends Basic Set frames which are mandatory to be supported by any actor).
So if it will be Z-Wave compliant one then this will do the job.

Some of the sirens may also support handling alarm frames which are being send from 4th association group.

If any of this won't work - scene is also a solution :)
