Updating from 5.070 to 5.090

Hi,

I want to do the update, but I'm not sure what's the deal with the Zwave 3 engine.

Version 5.080 is the last one that has this notice:

"ATTENTION - installing version 5.080 does not automatically change the existing Z-Wave 2.0 software to 3.0. In order to run version 3.0, it is necessary to restore the gateway to factory settings, requiring the system to be configured from scratch. In future updates we will work on extended device support and provide a mechanism to migrate your current system configuration to the new Z-Wave engine."

What dose it mean?

is the issue is solved ? dose Zwave automatically updates now without factory reset ?

is it still the same case but this notice was just remove ?

Thanks!

Updating does not mean the Z-wave engine also updates. To update the Z-wave engine, you need to force it and you need to do factory settings, etc.

The answer is: NO (not automatically and not without factory reset)

    Thanks for the answer.

I assumed this was the case, but I wasn't sure sine this note was not included.

    P.S

is there really a plan to make this transition without the need for factory reset and re setup the whole thing ?

    Thanks!

Best to be sure, otherwise unexpected consequences ?

I have heard Fibaro is working on an update of Z-wave engine without the need of a factory reset.

@tzimber Have you already done the update? I am in the same case as you and I wanted to get feedback from someone who has already done it.
