Heat Controller won´t stop turning

Hi,

I have a lot of Heat Controllers throughout my house, but one of them is showing a strange behavior from time to time.

Every other day, it starts regulating but does not stop after doing so. It seems to constantly turn the heater completely open, then completely closed, then open again and so forth. It will keep doing that for up to 10 minutes before it finally stops. Then it´s quite for one or more days and it happens again.

Controller is on firmware 4.7 and connected to a HC3.

Any idea what might cause this and what I could do to stop it?

Did you check the log of your HC think it's something to do with calibrating.

 

Have a look in the trouble shooting manual.

Hello,

is there a specific log for the specific heat controller device, anywhere? The HC itself does not show any notifications about the device.

I was able to perform the calibration without problems. And the valve works finde in regulating the temperature in cooperation with the other ones in the room. Just from time to time (every other day) it starts this constant open-close-open-close routine for several minutes without any noticeable reason.

Not that I know

If there is an calibration failure it will show up on the notification tab "envelope pictogram" or have a look in the Historie tab.

Tried calibrating several times and it went without noticeable problems.

You could ask support to have a look into it.

In the trouble shooting link above, there is an referral to download the Heat Controller log.

I not sure but I think we can not open the log files.

After a second device, which I have newly bought, showed a similar behavior, I have digged more into it.
It really seems to be an issue with the motor during calibration, even though the HC3 never sent me a note about any calibration problems. It works sometimes, but sometimes the calibration takes forever with these devices, going on and on with turning the valve open and closed and so forth.

 

I contacted support about it and they asked me to send the devices to them. Now they returned them with the comment: "Calibration problem - problem with motor mechanism".
Somehow they seem to have fixed them. Hope it stays that way.
