How to remove device from Faulty Home Centre Lite

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My Home centre lite is technically faulty as I've lost control to the firmware. I can still use and control switches and access the web page but I cannot change or edit anything.

I can go to the device but there isn't any option to remove or configure the device and I cannot update the firmware.

I've purchased a Home center 3 lite but I'm having problems with resetting the devices or removing from my Home centre lite so that I can add into my new controller.

Tried pressing Button "B" for 3 seconds to reset according to manual but it still appears in the old faulty Home Centre lite. Despite that I tried to add it to the new controller but it does not work.

Can you please advice how can I remove the devices from the old controller.

Thank you.

Regards

Lip Tsin

You do not have to do it in your defective box.
You simply exclude them with your HC3, then you can include them in your HC3.

EDIT

You have a very old firmware (4.100) which is why you have trouble updating it.
If you do a recovery on it, you should be able to upgrade it to the latest firmware.

Thank you very much, that worked. Thought it can only be excluded from the original Home Center.

Yes, the firmware is very old. It's not that I don't want to update it but the product has been faulty for a few years.

I cannot get the firmware to update and cannot get it into recovery mode, contacted Fibaro, they tried to help but at the end said that it's faulty and the only way is to send it back to Poland if I wanted it fixed.

That being said, there wasn't any issue using it to control all the existing devices, just that I cannot activated any scene or add any devices or even change any settings in it.

Well, the recent budget HC3 lite was at reasonable price to get everything going again.

    Anyway, thanks for your help.
