Anyone with Gateway Connection updated with no error?

Anyone with Gateway Connection (multiple slaves) updated with no error?  Curious to hear before I make an upgrade myself.

I did the update (1 slave) and for the first time the update was without problems.

Do you first update the slave and then the master? Or vice versa?

Start the update from the master, and choose there: update master and all connected gateways.

In my case, it was not my intention to have a master/slave setup. Up to two months ago, I had a single HC2 with 155 devices included and it had been working fine for several years, without major issues.

But when I moved to HC3, I decided not to do a transfer but a clean install. So I excluded all devices from the HC2 and included them in the new HC3. That went fine until I got to 110...120 devices. I still had to do most battery powered devices. I had saved them for last, to make sure that there was a good mesh of powered devices first.

And then it started going wrong. Including the battery powered devices did not work any more because (among other things) the discovery process of the neighbouring devices took longer than the 'awake time' of the devices. So they went back to sleep before they were properly included. After trying over and over again, I gave up.

So that's why I bought a HC3 Lite and configured it as slave to the HC3.

I used the slave to include all the remaining devices, and that worked.

The 'choice' of going for master/slave was a workaround to get back to a fully operational system with all my devices. Otherwise I would NEVER have gone for a master/slave configuration, because it introduces new (potential) points of failure.

My advice: if one system can handle it reliably, don't go for master/slave.

Thanks for all the feedback. I updated my system (1 HC3 Master + 1 HC3 Slave + 6 HC3L Slaves) with no problem.

I'm using a different approach for master/slave concept.

    I run

on HC3 which is controlling all my old systems (HC2 and two HCLs). Works excellent for few months now.

    In addition I'm using

to control HCLs by writing LUA code (yes, LUA code) for some extra actions.

Using that approach I have just one QA runs on HC3 without endless number of scenes and QAs.

ON HCL I have no code at all !!
