I received this via email today.
Has the warranty period on my HC3 expired or what does Fibaro mean? Have I misbehaved?

It only means that installer account (which is used by our support) which was linked to you HC3 was removed :)
It was probably added as your installer last time support was helping you.

Nothing to worry about.

Regards,
Michał

OK, but how do I turn off the red LED on the controller.
It glows angrily red and signals that something should be fixed.

    Ah, by adding an installer.
You can add again [email protected] to get rid of it.

@m.roszak with this one feature request. Possibility to toggle button with name self install that would turn off installer LED. Some customers call about it and some do not rest easy when I tell them do not worry about it and that is because they do not have installer filled in.

If you have costumers, you are an installer. Right?

Then you can have an installer account from Fibaro. Set up your own installer account.

    Problem solved.

Unfortunately it does not help me and I guess most people install their HC3 themselves.

I hope it will stay as now.

As an installer, I have several clients who came to me because of that red LED, and we are working on they system for a long time now.

Fibaro has to make a decision about the business modell. They have two ways. One is to help the self installs as it is possible. The other way is to help the certified installers to make as many business as possible.

These two can not work well in the same time. If they try to balance in the middle it will not perfect for anyone.

I hope that you also offer the additional value for your customers than to switch-off red lights :)

I hope fibaro makes the right choice, if i need an installer to make my hc3 work (i don't mean the red light) but actually need an installer to make it work/make changes to the system then the hc3 will leave the house.

I think i am capable to do these things myself.

Course! The systems are expanded with devices and many LUA scenes. The red light was only the starting point with these new customers.

We are distributor, so yes, we have Fibaro installer account.

So, you suggest to set up installer account, that is completely only in case of customers turning red light to copper? That does not make sense.

Look, it is good that you have found clients through installer LED. We sure recommend all the time end-customers for some advanced installations to get in touch with our partners that we train for Fibaro installation, but some customers will not do that as they want to do it in their own pace without installer.

I understand everyone who is interested in their own installation. I'm such a fan.
However, as a trained installer, I went through the procedure of gaining access to an installer. I don't know how it is today, but without a training certificate, there was no chance of gaining this approach.
However ... in addition to turning off the LED, the installer will have more options for working with HC3, which can affect the operation of the system, so I understand why this approach is "chosen" (at least for those who know what they are doing).

To return to the LED problem. I like the idea of switching the self-installation, even if it means that the extended functions as an installer will not be accessible.
