I express total dissatisfaction with the stability of the fibaro system ....

I use HC3+ zwave3 + 67 devices, no scenes, all controlled by EventRunner4.

A few days ago, half of the devices fell out of nowhere, half of the devices are not available and do not communicate. It is neither possible to remove them, only via force remove, nor to add them even after resetting the device to the production stop / e.g. hold the fibaro head in the yellow stripe and then twist and release./After removal do not go back to the fibaro system.

 

I didn't make any changes, interventions or adjustments, I did it myself.

 

It does not help restart, does not help to load an older backup, does not help save to a backup and load.

 

It's a pity, for the third time Fibaro disappointed me that the system crashed for no reason.
I am thinking strongly about moving to something else. And all my other customers and friends I manage with will pass with me. Fibar will have fewer customers and they deserve it. Stability in "fucked", zigbee in "fucked", 433Mhz in "fucked" ......

67 devices is critical as for me. you should clear understand what and where issues in your Zwave network.

ok you will moving to another controller (approve! ) but you will still with closing eyes what happened in your zwave network.

I don't really want to move to another system unless there is another way out.
I was satisfied with the Fibaro + EventRunner system, only if there were no such crashes that everything was running, and suddenly without any change or intervention the network is "ko", the devices do not respond and look like they are not connected to the network.

 

I would like to find out what happened in the system but how? Fibaro didn't release any tools for that. I don't even know which points my devices within the mash network are actually connecting to. Somewhere I even caught the information that in the zwave3 system they only connect to the central unit and not to other devices within the network / sockets, dimmers, switches, etc. /.

So please advise how to find out what caused the error, or I'll give you remote access and try to figure it out.

Fibaro has been like this for over 10 years so don't expect them to change.

Promised features not there so you take upgrade and it all breaks.

Zwave 3 I didt tuch because its not already mature and its missing several devices.

Please advise, should I use the old z-wave engine on HC3 or rather the new z-wave3?

if you switch hc3 on new zw3 you will must re-include all devices, but if you already on zw3... you guinea-pig in Fibaro lab

Yep, it is in beta and has several limitations. If I read the title of your post, I don't think you should run Zwave3. Go for the more reliable solution (but you have to re-install all your devices).

Hi,
since I have been running on z-wave 3 at the same time since it was made available, I did a complete reset then and added all the devices again. Everything was running fine until half of the net suddenly dropped out

You went the path of the zwave3 beta, so it is not likely you will go back (with re-install, etc)

But there are definitely limitations on the zwave3 engine. For example see a status november 2021:

So I can understand your feelings with Fibaro, but I also think it is part of the "beta thing".

Did you contacted support?
I am pretty sure that one of our developers will take a look.

As said before in this topic, engine 3.0 is in beta phase - you have decided to go for it, ok.
Just remember that its a beta, we would really like to take a look at your configuration to help us improve it. 
That is probably a one part of using beta features - giving a feedback.

So, I see two options - contact support and arrange remote access and allow us to take a look, or - start from the scratch and use Z-Wave 2.0.

Could you check in the settings

 

16 - zwave, then open the tab "smart start"

 

When my zwave devices get disconnected, i get a protocol error there. (i have this every few days)

Switching a few time between smart start, and the firmware update tab. Restarts the service.

And will bring back the connection with my zwave devices.

Ako už bolo povedané v tejto téme, engine 3.0 je vo fáze beta - rozhodli ste sa ísť do toho, ok.
Nezabudnite, že ide o beta verziu, naozaj by sme sa chceli pozrieť na vašu konfiguráciu, aby sme ju mohli zlepšiť. 
To je pravdepodobne jedna časť používania beta funkcií - poskytovanie spätnej väzby.

Vidím teda dve možnosti – kontaktovať podporu a dohodnúť si vzdialený prístup a umožniť nám sa na to pozrieť, alebo – začať od nuly a použiť Z-Wave 2.0.

Hi. So after consulting with the support it looks like a hw glitch, left the z-wave chip in home center3.

Reset to factory settings and no device can be added in either old zwave or zwave3. So claim the device.
