What is smart? (To do)

Question

Posted

Hi, on my HC3 I have conected a HUE bridge.

I cant test because I am waiting till new house is ready and the HC3 is boxed.

On the HUE bridge I have HUE and IKea Tradfi connected around 35 pieces

I want to extend the number of bulbs with minmal 10-15 pieces.

Several options to choose but what will give the best result?

Buying HUE is good quality but $$$$

Ikea connected on HUE doest allow change color. Is the Ikea bridge compatible with HC3?

Zigbee I dont have experience with but financial a good alternative.

Can I connect Zigbee 3.0 bulbs with HUE Bridge or do I need  a Zigbee controller?

Are Zigbee bulbs just give a nice light comparable with HUE?
Please your opinion or advice.

The HUE bridge has a limit around 50 devices. But sometime you get a bridge for free in a package deal. But you still have to think how to logically devide the devices between to two bridges.

Zigbee will come soon for HC3, promised Fibaro, so you can also consider to connect Zigbee bulbs with the HC3 by the time you moved in to your new home.

Thanks, suppoose, hypothetical, if, as HC3 doest have Zigbee?

    A promise we will see!

For our kitchen it will be Zigbee bulbs because HUE is having limited options. Because of this I want the extension of bulbs also in Zigbee.

Can Zigbee bulb be connected on HUE (Hue is also using Zigbee protocol)?

Is there a Zigbee controller who can communicate with HC3?

THe two bridges will not be a problem I guess or else JanGab will tackle it.

I guess if I use Children of Hue from Jan I need to install for each HUE bridge a QA to do the trick.

Btw I am a broad so Zigbee bulbs are much cheaper here as at home
