Communication fails between HC3 and Z-wave modules

Two days ago I get some disconnected devices. Fibaro Relay module, Wall plug.

When is refreshed the connection they where back but after a few hours disconnected again.

Nothing changed in the system and the wall plug is very close to the Home Center.

 

This morning all of the Z-wave modules where not responsive. Not via the iPhone app, Web interface or scenes.

Other non Z-wave devices like Philips Hue where working fine via the Fibaro app.

Did a reboot but there is no Z-wave device anymore that responds to the Home Center.

 

How can this happen?

Reconfigured the mesh network and then did a reboot of the system.

Now all devices are back.

Today again the complete Z-wave communication was not working. Just reboot didn’t solve anything hard reboot by unplugging the power for 10 seconds took everything back in place. 
some serious problems with this software version.

I think you should contact support. Apperently no other users with this kind of issues.

I had one unit fall out of communication with HC3 in this firmware. Has not happened before. Had to powercycle the device to make i t reconnect.

Exactly. Please create a ticket ASAP.
Which Z-Wave engine are you using? ZW2.0 or new beta 3.0?

That sometimes happens, what kind of device?
If power cycling the device helped that this won't be an issue on gateway side.

Well, it has been working for over 2 years without having a single issue. A few days after upgrading to 5.100 and ZW3 engine I got connection lost to the device. It might be device issue, it is the first time this device has had an issue though.

 

It is a popp outdoor outlet.

I am asking just to be sure.

Selecting the engine is possible at first gateway configuration or after factory reset

Yes. After update to 5.093 beta I did a factory reset. Choose ZW3 engine. Re-included all my devices. Then updated to 5.100. After about 5-6 days the Popp unit was not reachable.

In ZW3.0 this function works a little bit different, now there is a possibility to mark nodes as failed by additional function built-in in Z-Wave Alliance firmware - it is not used in old 2.0.
This is the only difference there, our part of firmware works basically the same. 

We will take a closer look at this anyway.

I called the support. But the only advice they give was reconfigure mesh network for the entire Z-wave network. Otherwise put back an backup. 

 

1 wall plug was not reacting at all anymore just disconnected. I left it out for 1 day now plugged it back in and it’s working again. 

Very strange behavior wat I never encountered with the HC3 ZW2 or HC2. 
 

I’m on the ZW3 engine now for ~6weeks. 
 

Perhaps worth the time to go back to the ZW2 engine because my experience was that the HC3 with ZW2 is very stable compared to the HC2. Looks like ZW3 still needs more then a year of development before it is as good.

Today the complete Z-Wave network failed again no connection to any Z-wave device.

The failure only skipped yesterday, but I now have 3 hits in 4 days.

 

I can only not pinpoint what triggers it. Seems random.

I have a HC3L unit with ZW3 and it does the same to me, randomly disconnecting devices, rebooting doesn't help.
